Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has ruled Super Eagles skipper, Mikel Obi, out of the Blues away league clash against Hull City on Saturday.

Conte revealed in his press conference ahead of this weekend’s clash with the Tigers that Mikel his suffering from a minor muscular problem.

Mikel is yet to play a single minute for Chelsea since the commencement of the season.

The latest injury worry could rule Mikel out of the Super Eagles 2018 World Cup qualifier against Zambia on October 9 in Ndola.

Conte also revealed that club captain, John Terry, will not be available.

“John Terry is out of tomorrow’s game. Mikel is also out with a small muscular problem,” Conte said on Friday.

And on Chelsea’s recent poor form which has seen them lose two straight games to Liverpool and Arsenal, Conte said they are doing everything possible to turn things around,

“It is never good when you lose two games. But in these two games I saw a lot of important things to work on,” the ex-Italy manager added.

“With great work and hard work, I and the players and the club together are trying to change the situation.

“We must think about the present now rather than think about spending money in the future.”

“We are using last season as an instrument to push us more to improve.”
