Carlos Bacca's Agent Reveals Why Striker Didn't Leave AC Milan for West Ham United in Summer

"?West Ham United did not give Carlos Bacca any reason to leave AC Milan in the summer, according to the player's agent.

The striker was heavily linked with joining the Hammers during the course of the summer transfer window but, despite Slaven Bilic's best attempts, Bacca decided to remain with the Serie A club instead.

Bacca's representative, Sergio Barila, has now claimed that the Colombia international had no reason to complete a switch to the Premier League, and told Spanish news outlet "?El Heraldo that his client had been happy to stay with the San Siro based side.

Barila said: "There were several clubs interested (in signing Bacca), but what Carlos prioritises is his sporting and family situation, not money. He is very happy in Milan.

"Carlos Bacca is happy in Milan. The club is happy with it, but if a proposal interested us then maybe we could have taken a step, but right now there is no options on the table. There is no reason for Bacca to leave AC Milan."

West Ham were keen to reinforce their options in attack during the summer, and eventually signed Swansea forward Andre Ayew for £20m, as well as completing a season-long loan deal for Juventus striker Simone Zaza.

However, with Ayew only just returning to full fitness after a hamstring strain and Zaza failing to find his best form for the Irons, fans have once again turned their attentions to why Bacca did not sign for their club.

West Ham could look to revive any slim hope of prising Bacca away from Italy in the upcoming January window, but Barila added that his client is priceless in the current market after notching six goals in 10 outings this term.

He added: "It depends on the moment. Last year Milan demanded 30 million euros for him, but it is sure that offers coming in January should be higher, because Carlos is fine, Milan is fine and they do not want to get rid of him. At this time, Bacca is priceless."
