Rivers United got their CAF Confederation Cup campaign back on track after crucial win over Acádemica do Petroleos Luanda in Angola on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The Nigeria Premier Football League former champions defeated the Angolan side 3-2 at the Estádio 11 de Novembro.

Leonardo Manuel Isola opened score for the hosts in the 37th minute, but Ekerette Anthony Udom restored parity 4 minutes later before Alex Oyowah scored from the spot with a minute to go in the first half.

Farouk Mohammed started the second half for the Pride of Rivers on a high with the third just three minutes at the start of the second half.

The hosts pulled one back in the 68th minute through Isola's double, but Rivers held on to get the win which puts them on 9 points same as second place Club Africain.

Rivers United now need a win in their last game against group leaders, Dreams FC at the Uyo Township Stadium.
