CAF CC: Plateau United's defeat motivated us - Nwagua

Following Rivers United progress to CAF Confederation Cup group stage, striker of the Nigeria champions Nyima Nwagua attributed their determination to secure the spot to Plateau UnitedHealth ouster, Nigeriasoccernet.com gathered.

Both Plateau and Rivers United won their first leg games at home against their Libyan counterparts convincingly needing to avoid a big defeat away to secure a group stage spot.

Plateau United who played first in the day unbelievably lost out despite winning the first leg 4-1 in Nigeria.

Nyima Nwagua who watched the game with his teammates hinted that the loss of Plateau United made them play the game with determination and the intention to keep Nigeria's flag high on the continent.

" LWe feel very excited about this game after watching Plateau United earlier in which they failed to keep the game until the final minute, we told ourselves that we have to keep Nigeria's flag flying, we put in our best and we came out victorious," he told the club media.

Rivers United is the only Nigeria club left on the continent after Plateau United, Kwara United and Remo Stars all failed to make it to the group stage.
