Bayern Munich Set to Sign Serge Gnabry on Permanent Deal From Arsenal Before Sending Him Out on Loan

German champions Bayern Munich are set to sign Arsenal midfielder Serge Gnabry and immediately loan him out to Bundesliga rivals Werder Bremen before tomorrow's transfer deadline.

Gnabry has been unable to break in to the Gunners' first team since arriving, and spent half of last season out on loan with West Bromwich Albion. However, he only made one league appearance under Tony Pulis and returned to Arsenal in January - but only featured for the club's Under-21 side.

Sky in Germany: Bayern Munich signing Serge Gnabry from Arsenal and sending him on loan to Werder Bremen

"?Sky Germany report that Bayern are looking to bring the midfielder back to his homeland and have actually agreed a deal to sign the player permanently, even while Arsene Wenger only initially intended to let the player once again leave on loan.

He initially joined Arsenal as a 16-year-old in 2011, and has spent the summer playing for Germany at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Wenger said recently about the attacker: "He went to West Brom and didn't get a game, we had to rebuild his confidence when he came back.

"I allowed him to go to the Olympic Games without having played for us at all, to get him back to competition and to help Germany. So I think he's here now for a long time and it's important that he stays with us.""?

Bayern will hope to complete the deal within the next 24 hours before sending him directly to Bremen. Gnabry will be another name in a series of players set to leave the Emirates before Wednesday's deadline, with Calum Chambers and Jack Wilshere set to leave on loan.
