Akwa United have announced the signing of Ezekiel Bassey from Iranian club, Paykan FC.
The details of Bassey’s deal were however not disclosed.
Bassey who had an unfruitful spell at Barcelona’s B team before joining Iranian side, Paykan last year has been handed the No.10 jersey at the club in his second stint at the club.
The 22 year old forward will be available for selection when the Promise Keepers take on El Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri on Thursday in a Nigerian Professional Football League game.
“We are glad to announce the signing of Super Eagles and former FC Barcelona Team B Forward Ezekiel Bassey,” a tweet the official handle of Akwa United reads.
“Bassey may be available for selection against El-Kanemi on Thursday.
“It will be the player’s second stint with us and he has been assigned jersey NO 10.”
Akwa United are currently seventh in the NPFL table with 29 points from 19 games.
