Ghana forward Asamoah Gyan scored his 13th league goal of the Arabian Gulf League after netting in Al Ain's 4-0 hammering of Al Ittihad Kalba on Thursday afternoon.

The Black Stars captain wrapped up the win for table-toppers with a precised 83rd minute finish following a Miroslav Stoch assist at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.

Gyan returned to action a fortnight ago after recovering from an injury which caused him to miss Ghana's last two international friendlies against Senegal and Mali last month.

He scored the solitary goal in Ain's win against rivals Al Ahli but failed to score against Al Nasr on Saturday.

However he atoned for missing out on scoring during the weekend with a trademark finish as Ain won to widen the gap at the top of the table.

As the supplies were rushed in from Ain's busy midfield, Gyan finally had his chance to add his name to the score-sheet after Stoch, Jires Kembo-Ekoko and Omar Abdulrahman had all scored in the first-half.

Stoch weighed in a speculative cross which beat three Ittihad defenders to reach Gyan who was unmarked. The former Udinese man coolly hammered the ball past the stranded keeper.
