Arsenal Tracking Inter Milan Star Ivan Periši? After Stunning Euro 2016 Displays

Published on: 23 June 2016

"?Arsenal are keeping tabs on Croatia and Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, according to "?talkSPORT.

The Inter Milan man has been linked with plenty of other clubs in the past including Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund. But according to reports in Italy, Arsenal are the frontrunners for his signature.

It is thought that due to the uncertainty of winger Theo Walcott, the Gunners will be looking to Perisic to fill that hole. Arsenal are also looking at Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez and Borussia Dortmund's Henrikh Mkhitaryan as possible suitors. But they could now drop plans to sign either of them and focus all their attention on Perisic.

The 27-year-old has had a brilliant start to Euro 2016, coming in as the country's top scorer in qualifying, with six goals in nine matches, Perisic has carried on that form for his country to score two goals in three games within the tournament, including the winner against Spain on Tuesday to ensure Croatia topped the group.

After the game Croatian boss Ante Cacic spoke to "?BBC Sport of the teams confidence moving forward. "This team is like our nation. The players have shown how to represent your country and how to behave. I wanted to play the next match with really fresh players. It's a huge achievement, and now we can be even more self-confident."

On the other hand, Spain boss Vicente del Bosque spoke to "?BBC Sport of his disappointment after the game "The players were sat in silence. They don't enjoy losing. We had the game under control, I'm not going to defend our performance excessively but I think we played quite well.

"We didn't hold on to the ball as well as we should have [before the winning goal] and weren't ready for the counter attack. But we're still in the competition, we are not on the path we wanted to be but we have to rise to the situation."

Croatia will now take on Portugal this Saturday in the round of 16, whereas Spain come up against Antonio Conte's Italy next Monday.
