Arsenal Left-Back Kieran Gibbs Could Be Fit for New Year's Day Clash With Crystal Palace

"?Arsenal left-back Kieran Gibbs could be fit to face Crystal Palace at the Emirates on New Year's Day after limping off during Boxing Day's 1-0 win over West Brom.

According to "?the Mirror, the defender's injury - which came from a clash of knees with Baggies midfielder Claudio Yacob - is not thought to be serious.

After the game, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said: "It's a kick. I don't know how bad it is, but it's a kick on the knee."?

Gibbs was handed only his second start of the season ahead of first choice left-back Nacho Monreal against West Brom, and - with some suspect performances in recent weeks from the Spaniard - could make the place his own.

The 27-year-old only has 18 months remaining on his current contract, although Wenger has claimed that he wants Gibbs to remain with the club.

"?"?"?"?"?The Sun, however, have reported that Crystal Palace and Sam Allardyce are keen to bring the full-back to Selhurst Park in January.

Sam Allardyce could make Kieran Gibbs his first Crystal Palace signing.

The Eagles were reportedly interested in Gibbs when Alan Pardew was in charge, before the former England boss took over.

Swansea are also interested in the left-back, but a move to the struggling Welsh side is likely to be less appealing for Gibbs should he be considered surplus to requirements at Arsenal.
