AFCON 2015: Ghana won't take Bafana Bafana easy, warns Andre Ayew

Ghana may have beaten Africa’s No.1 team Algeria, but Andre Ayew has warned they cannot afford to take Bafana Bafana lightly on Tuesday in a crunch AFCON Group C clash.

The Black Stars beat Algeria 1-0 to bounce back into reckoning after a 2-1 loss at the hands of Senegal.

They next face South Africa on Tuesday in Mongomo knowing a win will send them through to the quarterfinals, while a draw and Algeria not able to beat Senegal could also push them through.

However, Olympique Marseille ace Andre Ayew said South Africa will give them a tough match.

“This is not the best Ghana, many of us like Gyan and I are not 100% fit, but we can do a lot more,” he said.

“Even after the win against Algeria, we cannot afford to get swollen headed. We’re happy, but won’t take anything for granted. Algeria is past and next is South Africa. It will be a very tough battle on Tuesday.”

He further said: “Expectations back at home must now have risen, but Ghana have always dealt with the pressure even though it could be difficult.”

The Black Stars last won the Nations Cup in 1982, but they have reached the last four of the previous four editions.

Andre, I like your spirit...more vim always please. But please talk to Jordan for us: he is too "dada ba" on the pitch. Tell him to be AGGRESSIVE or WILD. He doesn't look DETERMINED or HUNGRY for goal. I know the story of most of the Blackstar players...some sold 'pure water' on the street, some really hassled with what to eat after training, even gari sef! Gyan started amartuer like Jordan, even Jordan is even better,BUT the difference between Gyan and your brother is HUNGER for the ball. We call that DETERMINATION and passion. This what Gyan said : "I am a legend and I'm writing my own history". I admire that. He NEEDS to take his mind off everything your father or anyone has built and start building some COMPETITIVE. Jordan has the talent but is not hungry enough. This my opinion. Cheers

South Africans are without discipline on the field of play. In fact they can be found anywhere, everywhere anytime during a game which makes them difficult to mark. If there is a game that needs total attention from our bench is this one. Grant, go big on this one or go home.

if you are not fit, ask the coach to keep u on the bench. You are weakest link in the team now. No complete passes, no interception, no short on target. Play well or get dropped lyk dat clown boye.

Definitely, I always admire your mind-set Andre. Even though, I do like South Africans, but we have to win this one.

If Andre is not 100% rest him and start Wakaso, Jordan has played over 170 minutes and has zero goals and as much assist. Bring in Wakaso and Frank Acheampong the U20 Star.
